This advice is from CS members, I've gone through and re-vamped for easier access so to speak.
Adopting Pets and their Limits
It's best to adopt all pets and adopt them till you cannot get anymore. Even if they are not very good trades now, next month they may be the big trade pet. Then at times you have to wait longer, but either way, stick them in a trade group and let them age. Like a wine, yeah, I know, we're not all wine fanatics. But it's a good analogy. A wine that has aged is worth more then a new wine. As an older CS pet is worth more then a new one. And remember this, once the pets have been released there is a very low possibility that they will be re-released. And that will still be on Christmas, so it has been the last years.
It is suggested that you do not trade pets till they are fully grown. Because a lot of the times in the middle stages you are not seeing everything. In the November dogs of 08, see the archives, the Joker turned right from newborn to a Joker. Then with the October of 08's, archives again, the green ones with multi-colored eyes and the one with a necklace both have the same second form. Stressed again, get ALL the pets up to the limit. A lot of people regret not doing this when they first joined.
No, these pets do not require feeding, watering, cleaning, petting, brushing, or any sort of care. They grow on their own. So no need to worry about food and what not. Simply gather the pets you love and chat on the forums with others.
The Pound
No, the pound is NOT set on a specific time meter. It opens randomly throughout the day and night. The reason for this is so that people who live in different time zones may have a chance for a pet or two. Wonder why it's not open all the time? That's so all the pets don't get adopted within a few days then we have no pound pets for anyone till someone sends more in. So anyway, check it often!
Where did the pets come from? Banned members and people who needed to send some pets that they couldn't get rid of away. As well as from members who are leaving. Though it is suggested that you simply keep pets and do not send them to the pound. And if you do want to get rid of some pets(but don't want them stuck in the pound), create a thread in the CS Free Adoptions forum giving people a group to look through and get pets from. Or donate them to another adoption agency. But please, don't just delete pets. There is ALWAYS someone who will want it.
Rules
Read them, learn them, follow them. Rules broken can lead to warnings, banning, and simply bad things. So be good.
Other Members
Be kind and courteous. Treat others as you want to be treated. New members need to be treated well too. You were a newbie once. And maybe you still are! Wishlist?
There is now a built in wishlist creator for CS on the main page. I plan to put up a guide, or at least see if someone else has made one, soon.
Trading
Is a great way to get pets you don't have. Don't fear sending random trades, check rarities and see if they match up, maybe you'll be accepted. It is also stressed that you check wishlist, and ALWAYS make sure you read that persons trade notes. You would want the same kindness done to you.
